Bringing the best Food & Wine for you

Originally a Dutchman, I grew up in Germany and have lived in many parts of the world since. My love affair with nature began when I was a kid, collecting medicinal herbs and drying them on a friend's loft. I have been a wild food forager for some 40 years now. Since 2004 I have lived on the border between Liguria and Tuscany, an area particularly rich in biodiversity. Earlier this year I have published my first book: Lightfoot Guide to Foraging – Wild Foods by the Wayside.

My experience in the wine trade started back in 1989. While in England I worked 15 years for a number of different independent wine merchants on retail and wholesale, supplying some of the finest restaurants in London. I also was in charge of purchasing and sourcing wines from around the world. During this time I also passed my Wine and Spirit Education Trust Diploma and studied to become a Master of Wine and was on the tasting panel for WINE Magazine.

Since coming to Italy I represented a number of small family run wineries helping them to find export markets, I run wine tasting seminars and winery tours on request, but mostly I feed my family as a subsistence farmer, cultivating a small piece of Ligurian hillside along permaculture principles and by gathering food from the wild
